Proof testing of slings
Posted by Shukrullah from Karachi, OT, PK on January 3, 2007

Dear Robert,

Having gone through OSHA Standards Slings-1910.184, clarification is felt whether proof testing of slings is required to be repeated after every twelve months or only just after each new before use , repair or reconditioned. Please give your expert opinion.

Best regards,

Baig.

Quality Systems Engineer

Pakistan Interl, Airlines.

I am not an expert in this field, but my erection crew superintendents inspect slings on every pick, and do not use them if physically frayed or damaged in any manner.

We have our rigging professionally inspected according to our local jurisdiction on any site.
